Caroline V. Davis

Caroline has been trying cases since her fifth month at the bar. She has taken over 60 cases to verdict and litigated cases in almost every jurisdiction in Virginia. For more than eleven years, she has handled everything from personal injury claims, to professional liability disputes, to million dollar fire losses, to tractor-trailer accidents to defamation suits. She has broad experience handling complex casualty claims, wrongful death losses, equine disputes, professional liability, and homeowners' association litigation. Caroline represents clients in state and federal courts throughout Virginia, before the Virginia Boards of Medicine and Nursing, and has argued cases before the Virginia Supreme Court and 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.

A graduate of the University of Virginia with a bachelors of arts degree in economics, Caroline obtained her law degree from the University of Richmond T.C. Williams School of Law. She is a member of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, Defense Research Institute and Richmond Bar Association.

Harley W. Duane, III

Harley W. Duane, III, is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute (1967) and Washington and Lee University Law School (1970). Harley began his career in 1971 with the firm of May, Garrett & Miller, became a partner in 1975, and practiced with that firm until the formation of Duane and Shannon in 1984. His primary areas of concentration are litigation involving premises liability as well as automobile and other accidents and insurance coverage matters. Harley is a member of the Richmond Bar Association, the Virginia State Bar, and the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys.

Justin S. Gravatt

Justin S. Gravatt graduated from the University of Virginia (2000) and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Richmond Law School (May 2003) where he was a member of the McNeil Honorary Law Society. He joined our firm as an associate in August 2003, and his practice concentrates on civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on insurance coverage disputes, insurance defense, premises liability, products liability and automobile accidents. In January 2011, Justin became a shareholder in our firm. He is licensed to practice in all Virginia Courts, as well as the Federal District Courts for the Eastern District of Virginia and the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. Justin has successfully handled cases at the trial level and the appellate level.

David L. Hauck

For more than three decades, David L. Hauck has been trying cases in state and federal courts throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. A talented and experienced trial lawyer, David has tried more than 450 cases to verdict. He has extensive experience handling a wide range of cases including personal injury claims, complex casualty claims, premises liability, wrongful death actions, fraud claims, tractor-trailer collisions, and arson and fire losses. A former Assistant Commonwealth Attorney, David also assists clients facing felony, misdemeanor, and traffic charges. David has successfully represented Chesterfield County, its Board of Zoning, and its Planning Commission, as well as the Commonwealth of Virginia.

David graduated from University of Virginia and the Emory University School of Law. He has served as President of the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Bar Association, Vice-Chairman of the Third District Committee of the Virginia Bar, and as a substitute judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit of Virginia. In addition to membership in the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Bar Association, David is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Richmond Bar Association, and Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys.

In every year since its inception, the Virginia Super Lawyers Magazine has recognized and honored David as a Virginia Super Lawyer. He is a current member of the Litigation Council of America and holds an "AV" rating from Martindale Hubbard. David is frequently asked by other lawyers to serve as a mediator and arbitrator in personal injury, professional liability, and construction disputes.

David S. Galeski

David S. Galeski is an associate with Duane, Hauck, Davis & Gravatt's litigation practice, focusing on insurance defense and personal injury law. He has experience with a wide variety of matters including automobile accidents, malicious prosecution and premises liability cases. David also represents individuals charged with traffic and criminal offenses throughout the state. Prior to joining Duane, Hauck, Davis & Gravatt, David gained valuable courtroom experience while serving as an Assistant Public Defender for the City of Richmond. He has successfully argued clients' cases to both judges and juries alike on charges ranging from driving under the influence and reckless driving to misdemeanor and felony offenses involving drugs, firearms, larceny and assault.

David graduated from Middlebury College in Vermont and the William & Mary School of Law. While in law school, he served as a member of the Law Review. David is a lifelong Virginia resident and is actively involved with the Anna Julia Cooper Episcopal School, St. Christopher's School and Historic Richmond.
